Quick Compatibility Lookup

General guidance — always confirm rotor size & mount type.

Brand / Model Compatibility Rotor Size Mount Type Notes / Upgrade Tip
KuKirin (All Series: G2/G3/G4/T3/M4 Max/A1/G2 Max) ✔ High 140 / 160 mm 6‑bolt Direct replacement for stock caliper
Hiley ✔ High 140 / 160 mm 6‑bolt Check hose length (100‑120cm)
Dualtron ✔ High 140 / 160 / 180 mm 6‑bolt 4‑piston recommended for high‑speed
Zero ✔ High 140 / 160 mm 6‑bolt Official compatibility, easy install
Vsett ✔ Adapt 140 / 160 mm 6‑bolt Official compatibility
Booster ES3 ✔ Adapt 140 mm 6‑bolt 2‑piston recommended for mini scooters
Speedway ✔ High 140 / 160 mm 6‑bolt Significant safety upgrade
Other mainstream (Xiaomi/Ninebot etc.) ⚠ Verify varies mostly 6‑bolt Mechanical→hydraulic requires full kit

3‑Step Self‑Check

Step 1

📏 Measure Rotor

  • NUTT fits 140 / 160 / 180 mm
  • Measure full disc diameter
  • If in range → pass
Step 2

🔩 Caliper Mount

  • Universal bolt spacing (Zero/Vsett etc.)
  • Measure hole distance
  • Adapter bracket may be needed
Step 3

🔄 Brake System

  • Hydraulic → direct swap
  • Mechanical → need lever + hose
  • Cable housing not compatible

Front Fork Compatibility Check

Front fork type, width and structure directly determine brake installation clearance and alignment accuracy.

🔩 Fork Type

  • Rigid fork: Best compatibility. No suspension travel shift, caliper maintains perfect rotor alignment, minimal rub‑risk.
  • Spring / hydraulic suspension fork: Fully compatible. Reserve hose slack for suspension compression to avoid pulling or rubbing.
  • After‑market custom non‑standard fork: Verify mounting hole spacing & fork width; custom adapter bracket often required.

📐 Fork Drop‑out Width

  • Ideal fit: 100mm‑110mm for most performance e‑scooters / e‑bikes
  • Narrow <100mm: Risk of rotor‑caliper interference; thin shims may be required.
  • Wide >110mm: Caliper‑rotor misalignment risk; longer axle or custom adapter needed.

🔧 Fork Mount Interface

  • Works with common 18 mm / 22 mm fork leg clamp diameters, no drilling required.
  • Built‑in 6‑bolt disc tab: direct bolt‑on for NUTT caliper.
  • No factory disc‑mount tab: cannot mount directly; third‑party adapter bracket mandatory.

Fork Upgrade Tip: After installing a new suspension fork, re‑calibrate caliper‑rotor alignment. Bent fork legs or dropout offset will cause constant rub, noise and reduced braking performance. For 180 mm large rotors, always fit matching fork adapter.

Additional: 6‑bolt rotor base (center‑lock needs adapter) · Mineral oil only · hose 100/120/150cm · Never mix with ZOOM (seals/interface differ).

FAQs & Installation

Q1: Is NUTT brake hard to install? Can a beginner do it?

Yes, you can. Pre‑bled design simplifies mounting. You’ll need Allen wrenches, bleed kit, and mineral oil.

  • Key rules: Center the rotor before tightening; never skip copper washers; bleed thoroughly.
  • Facing issues? Send photos to NUTT support for 1‑on‑1 help.
Q2: Why choose 4‑piston over 2‑piston?

4‑piston delivers stronger, more linear, and responsive braking. Shorter stopping distance, stable in wet conditions or long descents, with better heat dissipation.

Q3: How often should I change the mineral oil?
  • Daily commute (≤20km/day, flat): every 12 months
  • Off‑road / high‑speed (≥30km/day, hilly): every 6‑8 months
  • Modified high‑speed (80km/h+): every 4‑6 months
Q4: Hose compatibility & system mixing?

NUTT uses standard banjo fittings, hose lengths 100/120/150cm. Mineral oil only – no DOT fluid or mechanical cable housing. NUTT and ZOOM systems are not interchangeable (seals/interface differ).

Q5: Will suspension front fork cause brake rubbing after installation?

Proper installation will not cause rubbing. Common rub sources are uneven fork pressure, poorly aligned caliper, or insufficient hose slack. After mounting, fully compress‑rebound the fork multiple times to check for contact between caliper, hose and rotor. Inspect fork condition periodically to avoid deformation‑induced offset.

Q6: Do I need to replace brake parts when upgrading front fork?

If new fork has standard 6‑bolt mount and 100‑110mm dropout width: no brake‑body replacement required, only realign caliper. If mount spacing or dropout width differ, match dedicated adapter bracket and adjust hose length to prevent over‑stretch or slack loops.
